Students in Kelli Crawshaw's Social Studies class noticed three boys break into a car and alerted Crawshaw, who ran to the school office. From there, Casey O'Brien, the school's assistant principal, jumped on the bicycle he rides to work and took off after the boys. Office personnel called the police.

"It was a nice team effort," O'Brien said. O'Brien is training for a bicycle race which includes running and jumping on his bike, and he said yesterday's events showed him his training is paying off.
