2008 CCCX Downhill Race Series Presented by X-Fusion |
The CCCX Series will hold a raffle/fund raising effort for the Mark A. Reynolds Memorial Fund at all the CCCX DH races remaining this season. The final race of the series will be the overall raffle for items donated by sponsors in Mark Reynolds honor. The CCCX Series hopes all riders will please support this great cause. Course Profile Race #5- Race #5 of the CCCX DH Series will also serve as a stop for Team Bigfoot´s 2008 NORCAL Series. This Saturday's course will be a long and fun DH route that will be race #1 of the NORCAL Super D Series. This course will be the longest trail in distance used so far this 2008 CCCX Series. The route will descend over 1400 vertical feet in 2.5 miles, and most race times will be in the 6 minute range. The course uses 80% single track and the rest is fast fire roads. The trail is extremely fun to ride on and it is a solid test of DH riding. The route also features bermed turns, high speed sections, natural rollers and drops, and many tricky turns to test a riders skill and equipment. Standard CCCX protocol will be used for this race, with riders starting solo at 1 minute intervals with start times being selected at registration.
All Races will be held at Toro Park - Located between Salinas and Monterey off of Hwy 68. Park is 5 minutes East from Laguna Seca Raceway. directions here.
Registration- The day of the event Registration opens at 8:00 a.m.
Practice- The CCCX DH Series will use multiple courses during the 8 races contested. Each course will be marked and ready for inspection at 12:00 p.m. the day before competition. Park rules are in effect for non race day practice, please control your speed and follow all Toro Park rules regarding bicycle trail use. Race day practice will be from 8:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
Timed runs start at 12:00 noon. Riders will be started on course at one minute intervals. Riders select their start time at registration.
Results & Awards will take place approximately 20 minutes after the last rider of the day. Results usually take place between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Medals will be awarded at each race for each division & series points will be awarded to all riders who complete their run at each event.
Final Series points total to be determined by riders combined score from 5 of the first 7 races, plus the mandatory Series final race score on June 22.
$Cash$ will be awarded at each race to the top men's and women's finishers.
Important Toro Park Rules: All Juniors must wear a bicycle helmet when riding. No alcohol in Toro park please. Speed limit is strictly enforced, so please drive slow. Please be courteous and friendly to other Toro Park users.
